Johnny Halls

Hello this is Johnny Halls, welcome to my Blog!

In less than 2 months I'll be going on a potentially life-changing experience as Twinned Schools Coordinator for the UK charity, Manisha UK. My 8-month placement will be in and around the town of Tansen, in Palpa District, Nepal.

During that time I'll be working in 9 of the rural schools supported by Manisha UK that are twinned with schools in the UK. I'll be teaching children, working with teachers to improve the teaching of English and helping the Nepalese twinned schools set up twinned school communication programmes with their UK twin school.

Manisha UK is doing great work in rural Nepal, supporting at least 19 schools and with ambitions to help even more schools in the poor rural communities of Nepal. You can read lots more about Manisha UK on their web site www.mcwfnepal-uk.org

During my placement I'll be hoping to be able to give you a real sense of the experiences I'll be having and how we can help these communities achieve their ambitions for their children.

But first, at little about me.
I'm from Warrington, up near Manchester and Liverpool. I've been at Uni for the last four years, three years in Cheltenham studying Early Childhood Studies than moved to Worcester to do my Early Years PGCE, which I have absolutely loved doing.  I spend a lot of my free time learning to play guitar, and a bit of banjo and mandolin.

I will be blogging whenever I can, proving I can get on the internet and the electricity is working. If you have any questions for me feel free to ask and I'll do my best to get back to you when I can.

Hope you enjoy following this, I'm certainly looking forward to going.
